The Dorset Theatre Festival is looking to fill technical staff and
intern positions for its four play summer season.
All positions begin June 6th and end September 4th,
and include housing (single for staff and double for interns)
and travel to and from Dorset.
AVAILABLE POSITIONS:
Technical Director:
At DTF, this is a hands on position. Duties include supervising and working on set construction and overseeing painting, props, lighting and sound, as well as managing technical interns and helping in the planning of changeovers. Some time before the season will be required to work on preliminary plans for the first two shows.
Salary: $500/week
Assistant TD / Master Carpenter:
Will manage the scene shop and work with the TD and interns to build the sets. Will also assist the TD in overseeing all technical areas. Strong skills in carpentry and rigging are required, and a working knowledge of audio systems is a plus.
Salary: $400/week
Technical Internships
are available in carpentry, lighting, sound, production management, and stage management. The duties of the interns will involve construction and maintenance of the elements in their focus, running crew duties, and occasionally helping in other areas. At DTF, interns provide a large portion of the labor and are an essential element of the organization. This is a great opportunity to develop your skills working hands-on alongside professionals. Interested individuals should have some experience in their area of focus and be hard working and dedicated to producing a high quality product.
Salary: $180/week
